ZSPI ROTC Unit Joins Silent Military Drill Competition During 25th Araw ng Sibugay Celebration
ALICIA, Zamboanga Sibugay — The 25th Araw ng Sibugay celebration, marking the silver anniversary of Zamboanga Sibugay, drew visitors and participants to Alicia on February 16, 2026, highlighted by the 2026 Silent Military Drill Competition featuring seven participating schools.
The event served as one of the major attractions of the anniversary celebration, showcasing discipline, coordination, and teamwork among competing units. Among the participants was the ROTC unit of Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute (ZSPI), marking the school’s first appearance in the competition.
Students and faculty members showed strong support for the ZSPI delegation as the group entered as the sixth performer. Despite facing experienced competitors from other colleges, the unit maintained composure and confidence as they executed their routine under the rhythm of synchronized drumbeats and the school’s blue and white banners.
During the performance, the group demonstrated coordinated formations and precise movements, earning applause from the audience. The presentation emphasized discipline, teamwork, and training, reflecting the effort invested by the cadets and their trainers in preparing for the event.
The competition concluded with positive feedback from spectators, as participants showcased not only technical skills but also sportsmanship and school pride.
