ZSPI Joins 1st Quarter Nationwide Earthquake Drill
Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute (ZSPI) actively participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on March 12 2026, at 3:00 PM.
The drill aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and improve emergency response among students, faculty, and staff by stimulating an earthquake scenario within the ZSPI campus.
During the activity, medics, students, instructor, faculty, and staff join forces to simulate a real earthquake, practicing the " Drop, Cover, and Hold" protocol and proceed to designated areas when the simulated shaking ends.
The nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) is a regular activity in the Philippines given its location in the Pacific ring of fire, making earthquake preparedness crucial.
Participating in the NSED allows ZSPI to foster a culture of safety and readiness within the academic community. Regular drills ensure that both students and personnel remain vigilant and capable of responding effectively during actual seismic events.
